It's not hard is it. You get a midfielder in midfield to play alongside Rice and Tell foden to keep wide on the left.
Also tell the team to play 10 yards further up the £#%&!ing pitch. What the £#%&! has he taken luke shaw out there for? Honestly why? What's the £#%&!ing point? He's not going to get more than maybe one half of football if he's lucky. Absolute waste of a plane ticket. Not bringing Grealish out there who can at least hold the ball and win free kicks is absolutely brain dead tbh. |

Someone has to take the hit and be dropped .
Maybe try something different. 4 4 2 diamond, midfield and attack something like, Rice Bellingham foden Palmer Kane. Watkins Not the most defensive but £#%&! it, take risks play attacking. You have two full backs who are good (Walker atleast) in attacking positions. Get rice to hold up and have the three midfielders infront of them try to find the two strikers. Bellingham foden and palmer all have a decent engine on them anyway, they can press and track back. It’s not like having players who can’t /wont put in the effort Have Watkins pace and Kanes classic center forward ability of finding space and scoring in the box. |

Not rocket science. Fill the positions with players who have played there all season (except LB because he didn't bring one who wasn't; injured )
T-REx Walker Stones Guehi Trippier Mainoo Rice Bellingham Saka Kane Gordon Alternatively play Bellingham with Rice and Foden or Palmer for Mainoo. A |

Foden No.10
Bellingham and Rice in behind One of the 2 or 3 options we have on the bench on the left. I can half understand why he didn't move Foden and Bellingham in his starting lineup yesterday with how well Bellingham did against Serbia, but it was clear early on yesterday that it wasn't working and he'd get more out of two fantastic players if he changed it. There's no excuse for starting Alexander-Arnold in the middle again. Imagine being one of the two actual midfielders that had good seasons sitting on the bench while a right back that can't play in midfield stinks up the place Probably a great idea in his head 'Every time Trent picks up the ball up he fires a hollywood ball over the top and we score. We can't lose...'. In reality he can barely find a teammate 8 yards away and every set piece he's taken has been utter shite. |

For United at the end of the season (last 3 games) it was dropping a striker who being quite isolated in of an extra pushed up midfielder (McT alongside Bruno) that got us going. I could see something similar working for England with say Bellingham alongside Foden (or Palmer) with two wide players and another midfielder with Rice in the "Amrabat role" probably Mainoo. Obviously would be a big call to drop Kane but would give them more energy/intensity and give them more presence further up the pitch.

Play a winger on the left. Play a proper midfielder. Really not that difficult. Trippier will still be a big issue but better one problem position than three. |
