He was negotiating a new contract (hence the 'Real Madrid want me' quotes) and apparently when he heard United were in for him he basically said he wouldn't renew. This is according to some Fulham fan on twitter.

We'll get him for a song. If the figures you've mentioned are right (they look realistic) then it'll happen.

I'd be buzzing with him. Very good at disrupting the opposition in his own half but also likes to carry the ball forward, starting attacks with a bit of urgency instead of Carrick and Scholes knocking it back and forth. Added to all this is the fact that he's a goalscorer, and Fergy loves a goalscorer, it's a great fit.

Actually I don't and in fact I won't.

Nor do I think of Fletcher as likely to be in any squad anytime soon.

So we might actually be in for him and not just blather? Makes sense I suppose, he'd fit in at United as he's shit and a @#%&!.

Giggs and Scholes are approaching death, Powell needs to go on loan, Fletcher is anybodies guess, that leaves 3 including Anderson

This is the last year for Giggs and Scholes. There's a huge question mark over Fletcher as the club had written him off.

That leaves us with Carrick (31), Anderson (shite), Cleverley (injuries, unproven) & Powell (unproven, drives a Corsa).

I think last year showed that Giggs can no longer play in midfield.

Carrick is currently our centre back
Scholes and Giggs don't count, they aren't going to whinge if they don't get games and they can be used as and when needed.
Cleverly I still get excited about,
Fletcher has a way to go yet for fitness.
Powell will be a league cup player this year imo.

We've got room.

I'm not saying it's on, just saying it's possible.

It needs either us or Fulham to shift their valuations. With the new TV money, smaller clubs wont be so easily bullied into selling players.
