Kalvin Philips ffs. He just can't bare the thought of not having two screening, defense minded players in front of his defence. His "plain ham and cheese" meal deal management style won't allow it.

England commit £#%&! all players forward in attacks under the bloke either. the amount of times the ball got turned over in midfield and England players just ran up the pitch with absolutely nobody supporting them.

Football terrorist.
International football is slower and there is nothing wrong with keeping shape and being more strategic with someone in the Phillips role, the madness is that he is experimenting with it midway through a Euros. He could have bedded someone in a year as a backup, event TAA. The thing is it doesn’t even need to be defensive, Rice can get forward and contribute and you could try one of the best young midfielders in the world who can also play box to box.

I’d argue what he’s doing is reckless not safe, backed himself into a corner where he will likely pick out of two players who have about 30 top level matches between them or Connor ‘£#%&!ing’ Gallagher

We look one of the worst teams in tournament, Palmer and Gordon must be wondering when will they ever get a chance to prove themselves.

I'm absolutely stunned a manager who's crowning club achievement was getting boro relegated is playing shit on a stick football.

But no, I was assured after the last tournament england were in fact unlucky and were but a whisker away from winning a major tournament....

this is beautiful to watch. Denmark deserved the win by the way, they were the only team willing to attack in numbers.

One tournament too far for Southgate, the poor passing is down to the fact players are scared of taking risks under him

southgate would not even dream of being so forward. probably just hopes she leaves the bathroom door open occasionally and she doesn't see him looking.

He should have resigned after losing the Euro 2020 final on home soil tbh.

kane's pass that led to the goal was not down to a fear of not taking risks. it was a ridiculous pass and there wasn't a midfielder anywhere near where it was played. they certainly aren't keen to cross the ball or play it forward, though, leading to unitedesque putting themselves under pressure.

he should. and he should have cited his love of sterling as the reason.

It’s a completely pathetic approach to football. Cowardly from a manager with such an array of players.

Yeah and his bosses are cowardly too, so fully expecting the next guy to toe the party line too. Let's face it they never had the guts to appoint someone outspoken like Clough.

I am absolutely convinced him and Grealish arrogantly thought we don't need to put in effort as Gareth will pick us anyway. Well hopefully this shock will put fire into their bellies for World Cup qualifiers whoever is the manager

Fire in their bellies for the qualifiers?

England's D team could probably top a qualifying group. I'd ĥope the qualifiers and nations league would be used to experiment rather than actually trying to do it two games into a tournament...
