Default Defending THROUGH the ball....

A hill I'm willing to die on.....

This Scotland pen (AND red) the onana wolves and pen (later in the season)

A spurs one....

Imo;

You shouldn't be awarded pens for good defending..

As an ex striker if I'm going in for the ball, to score, I Expect to be clattered, if it's a header from a cross, if it's a ball bouncing around in the area, we're going in for it, as a striker and centre back...

It's 100% a Vid / VAR / SKY / TV thing...

A follow through tackle or punch isn't a foul....

Agree.

Mainly because I like the idea of Onana punching you in the head.

I think it was the trailing leg with studs up that was the issue. If you play the ball and the same foot follows through and takes out the other player's leg then that's fine by me, but I don't think today's refs agree.

Agree with the principle, follow through does not automatically equal foul. This jock was rightly punished for a terrible technique

In slow time yes, in replays yes....

In actual real time, no one seen it...an attacker these days can feel a touch and buy a pen or foul.

I'm not even centre back fraternity.... Hate the @#%&!s, but a clearance isn't a foul, it never was.

Really? I instantly thought foul and it’s getting called back. It’s a horrendous challenge.

What the heck

It was an ankle breaker.

If someone comes to your place of work and breaks your ankle…you’d be hunting them down.

You don’t like it because you’re fit and strong. We must protect those who aren’t otherwise it’s anarchy.

Shame it wasn’t a double red.

You’d have to wait for the ankle to heal first

I don’t thin there was a single instance given of an Onana type ‘offence’ all season. It was United, early season and the media had to set the tone for the year.

Can see why the lad was sent off tonight. Casemiro woudve been banned for life for it.

As clear a red as I've ever seen.

I've played, coached and watched. There's no argument to be made that that isn't a straight red card for dangerous play.
