Depends on the audience. Doesn’t he have legal requirements during an investor call? It’s the only time you hear how the club is really thinking.

Someone more skilled in negotiations could still do a better job with whatever constraints he’s given. He may make them money with sponsorships, which many people could do when selling united, but he probably costs the club millions in wages and transfer fees that someone more skilled would save.
