Decent player but La Liga has deteriorated significantly in the last 2 years.

I don't really see what this has to do with the fact that he's scored half of his goals with left foot and half of his goals with his right, at least not in any significant way. And in any case, five years ago when La Liga still had a decent claim to being the best league in the world he won both the pichichi and the European Golden Boot with 25 goals. Over his five years in Spain, he's averaged more than 19 league goals per season.

I always liked Diego, just at United at the wrong time for me. Whenever he was brought in with Ruud not around he did a good job, IMO. Give time and games he would've had a similar record here to the one he has in Spain, I reckon.

Pretty much spot on tbh. I didn't mind him, he'll obviously always be well received for his goals against the vermin. Scored a beauty in the last minute against Chelsea, too.

I think he struggled with the intensity of our game, though.

I was thinking the other day just how weak is the Spanish League?

If three Barca forwards can rack up the best part of 100 goals; two players who hardly got a game for United turn out to be the most prolific strikers there; a defender who would walk past the Megastore on a match day and not get recognised is a first pick for their top team in the European Cup final a year later....
